One of my favorite ways to calm my mind is earthing - and Happy Earth Day! Ah, serendipity. Get yourself outside (preferably barefoot) and, yes, go hug a tree. Connect with the earth and with nature and add a little gratitude for mother earth. Being in nature helps us to see beyond ourselves and where our minds have gotten stuck or on a perpetual "hamster wheel." Other favorite ways to earth: walk barefoot outside, meditate outside, walk in nature, journal, and lay in a prone position (on your belly, there are respiratory benefits to this too).
