In this 16 minute video, you'll learn 4 different massages for the cervical spine (neck) beneficial for tension, headaches, and tissue release. Please note, these practices are meant to practice on a mat, though, I am showing a standing version against the wall for those who do not want to go down to a mat. The props you'll need are a mat, wall, chair, yoga block, blanket, and either 2 tennis balls in a tube sock or yoga tune-up balls. The first massage is for upper trapezius, the second massage is for the sternocleidomastoid (SCM), the third is for trapezius and levator scapulae, and the fourth is for the sub occipitals (often responsible for tension headaches). There is a bonus massage for the scm too! Please listen to your body when practicing myofascial release/self massage. Sustaining this is a function of your nervous system and some nervous systems will not tolerate it. Always be mindful.
